EDIE JO’S | Brooklyn, New York
Owner: Douglas found a raw space on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, and negotiated a favorable lease with a $200,000. tenant improvement allowance.
Concept: The Edie Jo's restaurant and bar was Douglas’ own original concept.
Designer: As the Lead Designer of the 60-seat Edie Jo's, Douglas’ blueprints included the restaurant, bar, kitchen, all lighting, and the entire back of the house.
General Contractor: He outsourced all subcontractors, managed all construction, and secured all permits.
Branding: Douglas’ creativity was further evident in his art direction of the Edie Jo's logo and branding designs.
Operator: As the opening general manager, Douglas established all back and front-of-house, bar, and kitchen systems, and hired and trained the entire kitchen, bar, and front-of-house staff.
Edie Jo's: Opened in July 2019 and quickly became a local favorite. Doug's hard work was rewarded when he sold his ownership interest on March 1, 2020.
